General Data Protection Regulation GDPR legislation came into force on 25th May 2018 with the aim of strengthening the rights of individuals and transforming the way personal data is collected, shared and used.​ Nelson Myatt Solicitors take client confidentiality and data processing very seriously and comply with the legislation. Due to the nature of our work and Solicitors rules we will often have legitimate reasons to securely store data about the work we have done for you – this is to ensure we don’t breach conflict rules in the future and so that we have records of the legal work we have done for you.  However, that doesn’t mean that we can use that information for whatever we want. What are the rules for processing my data? Data can only be processed if there is at least one lawful basis to do so. Consent for children must be given by the child’s parent or custodian, and verifiable. Data controllers must be able to prove "consent" (opt-in) and consent may be withdrawn. What information we collect We receive, collect and store any information you enter on our website or provide us in any other way. How we collect information When you enter information on our website, for example as part of obtaining a conveyancing quote then, as part of the process, we collect personal information you give us such as your name, address and email address. We use third party software in the following situations: Cognito Forms: to deliver conveyancing and personal injury quotations and also for our quiz. Information collected is used only for the purpose stated and is deleted on a regular basis. Webstat: This is integrated into our website and collects IP address information, time and date of visit to website, which page you entered on and which town and country the IP address is registered to. This is used to monitor how much usage of website gets, no other personal data is collected. Wix website: has the option for users to click subscribe, it will then collect name and email addresses as entered by the user. This data is then used to send out a monthly newsletter by email until such time as the user unsubscribes either via the website or by email. Google Analytics: This only collects statistical data for example how many people have visited a certain page on our website over a defined period. Why we collect information.
